It Ain't Easy is the fourth album by American rock band Three Dog Night, released in 1970. According to lead singer Chuck Negron's book Three Dog Nightmare, the album's working title was The Wizards of Orange, with a cover featuring the band's members wearing orange make-up and posing in the nude.

The reason it’s not a pop album is people expect you to come and the next album they’re going to be like ‘it has to be bigger than ‘Shape of You’ and it has to sell more than this'. Every year I write a song that will go on it. So I have about six, seven at the moment. I don’t think there’ll be any hot radio songs on it this time. It’s a very acoustic record. Nearly half of Is This It consists of their previously released material, but that's not really a disappointment since those songs are so strong. What makes their debut impressive, however, is that the new material more than holds its own with the tried-and-true songs

The name of Ed's fourth album. When it comes to naming his albums, Ed has followed a pretty straightforward formula (sorry for the Maths pun). His first was named 'Plus' (+), followed by his second 'Multiply' (X) and his most recent release 'Divide' (÷). Whilst he hasn't confrimed what the fourth release will be called, when asked by a tabloid about whether it will be named 'Subtract' (-), Ed reportedly said with a smile, It’s within that vein . Well speaking to one tabloid, Ed claimed, It’s not necessarily experimental but I don’t think there’ll be any hot radio songs on it this time. It’s a very acoustic record, very acoustic. Whatever it ends up looking and sounding like, we can't wait to get our hands on it. We'll try and be a bit patient though!

Is This It’ is an album by a band that knows its strengths, knows its collective mind. It doesn’t sound like one songwriter and some other donkeys. The highest compliment you can pay this record is that it sounds like Strokes, sounds as good as that whole concept. It’s a New York story, a Los Angeles story, a London story. Anyone and everyone’s story.

On July 30, 2001, – 15 years ago – The Strokes released their debut album ‘Is This It’ in Australia, the very first place the record hit the shelves. We don’t need to explain why the NYC classic’s legacy lives on 15 years later – after all we gave it 10/10 upon release and named it the fourth best album ever in our Greatest Album Of All Time list in 2013

Soon it became impossible to deny the simple decadent charm The Strokes had. Singing up-tempo but mellow songs about girls has always gotten bands popular, but the way they seemed to have an element of party-boy anthem sneak into songs is what made Is This It" such a catch and was probably the cause of all the hype in the first place. Everyone loves a rebel. The Strokes sound throughout Is This It" is like an updated 70's classic rock band. You can hear Casablancas do his best Isley Brothers "Shout" imitation on The Modern Age where he sings "Don't want you here right now, Let Me Go. WOOO!
