Awesome album of all of REO's pre Hi Infidelity hits. Even the alternative live versions of classics 157 and Ridin the Storm out are wonderful additions. Really interesting liner notes as well. What makes things so confusing is discogs lists : Format:2 × Vinyl, LP, Compilation, Promo . What they don't do is list what makes this a Promo . There are no pictures so that's no help. I have one with a Gold Stamp on the back that says : FOR PROMOTION ONLY Ownership Reserved By CBS , Sale Is Unlawful. Is that what makes this a promo ? And if so why are there no listing of other REO Speedwagon LP's such as Ridin' The Storm Out or Lost In A Dream etc. as promos that have the same stamp on the back? Besides this one I have 3 other REO LP's with that stamp. How do I add it to my collection as a Promo when I have no idea what exactly makes it a Promo ? There is no Runout groove listed for this also so that's also no help. I have looked at the other listings for the same catalog number but there is no exact match to what I have in the Runout. Close to some but no cigar. Very frustrating to run into these problems time and time again. I know Discogs does the best they can but why list it with incomplete information? If you have a paid position I can do submissions all day long but It's not exactly an easy process. It's not easy to photograph what's on a Runout Groove. Sometimes you need a strong magnifying glass to really be sure. Then of course you are dealing with random groups of numbers , letters and symbols that might not be on your keyboard , Also people make typos . Unless you have the vinyl in front of you there's no way to prove the information received is correct. I have a large Vinyl collection and listing what I have in the My Collection Section is a lot more time consuming than I imagined because I run into these type of problems so much.
