Orchestre Berbère Et Danseurs D'amizmiz. feat Danseurs D'amizmiz. 6. Complainte Du Berger À La Flûte. 7. Appel Du Muezzin Au Coucher Du Soleil.

After sharing several albums from Java, we now present the music from the nearby island of Bali, which often accompanies dances, traditional religious ceremonies and drama.

Part of Ocora's extensive traditional music lines, this album of music from Burundi attempts to present some of the salient examples of musical traditions in the old Kingdom. Some of the music is really quite amazing in the way that it can be both incredibly simple, but at the same time almost mesmerizing. The works on the album are really more of the form for an ethnomusicologist, in that many are simply a minute or two and exist solely to demonstrate a given technique or instrument, but for those ethnomusicologists, it will be quite worthwhile. There are demonstrations of native inanga.

Traditional music in Madagascar formed its identity with influences from various horizons: the Austronesian peoples on the one hand, and African, Arab and European migratory populations on the other. Such variety made it impossible to specify, in time and space, the true origin of traditional music in Madagascar. The same is true of the ternary rhythm, which comes in hundreds of versions, from north to south, from east to west and central Madagascar. In short, the ternary form, the basic tempo of traditional music here, is the common reference of the wealth of traditional music from Madagascar.
