Dream (Captain & Tennille album). Dream is the fourth album by the duo Captain & Tennille and their final album with A&M Records. The album was recorded at A&M Recording Studios (Hollywood, California) 1977; A&M Recording Studios "A" 1977; Captain & Tennille's Private Studio, (San Fernando Valley) 1977; The Record Plant (Los Angeles) 1977; Wally Heider Recording Studios (Hollywood, California) 1977.
Captain & Tennille were American recording artists whose primary success occurred in the 1970s. The husband-and-wife duo were "Captain" Daryl Dragon (August 27, 1942 – January 2, 2019) and Toni Tennille (born May 8, 1940). They have five albums certified gold or platinum and scored numerous hits on the US singles charts, the most enduring of which included "Love Will Keep Us Together", "Do That to Me One More Time", and "Muskrat Love". They hosted their own television variety series on ABC in 1976–77.

Dream was Captain & Tennille's fourth album in as many years and with it the duo concluded their hit-filled association with A&M Records. The title track is a version of the Johnny Mercer classic covered by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, and even Ringo Starr on his Sentimental Journey disc. Howie Greenfield was only 39 at the time and had achieved status as one of the all-time great Brill Building lyricists

Toni Tennille is in top vocal shape with her powerful, soulful, and emotional reading of songs on this album. Dream was released in 1978 on A&M records, and included the hit singles "You Never Done it Like That" and "You Need a Woman Tonight. The album was recorded throughout their own studio (Captain & Tennille's private studio). Title track marked the conclusion of a 1940s standards show. You Never Done it Like That" was originally recorded by Sedaka on his album A Song". Piano, lead and background vocals - Toni Tennille.
