Written by: Sage Artist: Gates Title: Moths have Eaten the Core Label: Ivory Antler Cat. IA04 Format: Pro CD-R. Genre: Dark Ambient, Drone. 01) Outer Labyrinth 02) Inner Labyrinth 03) Dust of Absence. As much of this album implies, both through written context and sound in general, the end of the labyrinth is a personal void. The first two tracks imply movement towards the center, while the album title as well as the third track title imply the absence of what should be there upon arrival, perhaps eaten away by time as represented metaphorically by moths. The sound matches this desolate transformation, with the depth of the drones reaching their conclusion in a less up-front manner in the last track in a way that makes the infinite seems inevitable.

Its thick, opaque sonics unfurl a spiritual journey through intense and enveloping emotion, yet evoke a state of abject solitude.
