Album: The Division Bell Year: 1994 Music: Gilmour. - lyrics --. Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young In a world of magnets and miracles Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary The ringing of the division bell had begun. Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again Dragged by the force of some inner tide. At a higher altitude with flag unfurled We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world. The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever.
It's good to touch the green, green, grass of home The old house is still standing Tho' the paint is cracked and dry And there's that old oak tree that I used to play on. Down the lane I walk with my sweet Mary Hair of gold and lips like cherries It's good to touch the green, green grass of home Yes, they'll all come to meet me Arms reaching, smiling sweetly It's good to touch the green, green grass of home.
Album Masters of Chant, Chapter VI. Greensleeves Lyrics. Alas, my love, you do me wrong To cast me off discourteously For I have loved you well and long Delighting in your company. Greensleeves was all my joy Greensleeves was my delight Greensleeves was my heart of gold And who but my lady Greensleeves. Well, I will pray to God on high That thou my constancy mayst see And that yet once before I die Thou wilt vouchsafe to love me. Ah, Greensleeves, now farewell, adieu To God I pray to prosper thee For I am still thy lover true Come once again and love me.
Green, Green Grass of Home", written by Claude "Curly" Putman, Jr. and first recorded by singer Johnny Darrell, is a country song originally made popular by Porter Wagoner in 1965, when it reached No. 4 on the country chart. That same year, it was sung by Bobby Bare and by Jerry Lee Lewis, who included it his album Country Songs for City Folks (later re-issued as All Country). Tom Jones learned the song from Lewis' version, and in 1966, he had a worldwide No. 1 hit with it.
I heard this song on the radio recently and cannot for the life of me identify it. It's really bothering me and I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me. The memorable part of the lyrics is part of the chorus that says "the grass is green and the sky is blue. The singer is male and it sounds like the song is from the late 1990's or early 2000's. a bit off from the lyrics you gave but could it be dire straits - iron hand. with all the clarity of dream the sky so blue, the grass so green the rank and file and the navy blue the deep and strong, the straight and true. the blue line they got the given sign the belts and boots marched forward in time the wood and the leather the club and shield swept like a wave across the battlefield.
The grass was greener The light was brighter With friends surrounded The nights of wonder. Encumbered forever by desire and ambition There's a hunger still unsatisfied Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon Though down this road we've been so many times. Pink Floyd's album "The Endless River" (2014) took its title from a lyric "The endless river" of this song. David Gilmour explained that such a title made a connection between two albums because "The Endless River" was composed from material recorded during "The Division Bell" sessions. P. Pink Floyd Lyrics.
I said: 'I hope you're right. He wa. Jones discussed the song's meaning with The Mail On Sunday: "I think the lyrical content is important here. It was the debut show of the musical/variety series that aired from 1969 to 1971 with a total of 65 episodes . Note: Looking for a great country song recorded by Tom Jones?
