Na Gathan is a Scottish Gaelic Indie rock band from the Isle of Skye. The song was inspired by the story, An Claigeann aig Damien Hirst, written by Maoilios Caimbeul. The story was in turn a response to the work of art by Damien Hirst, the band was formed by Kathryn NicAoidh, Tomaidh MacAilpein, Greg MacThòmais and Tim Armstrong

Damien Hirst (. 965) is a British contemporary artist. His varied practice explores the complex relationships between art, religion, science, life and death. Seven Damien Hirst sculptures will be exhibited across Leeds and Wakefield this summer. Death is Irrelevant' in eponymous New York exhibition. The artwork features in a group show of figurative sculptures from the Marc and Livia Straus Collection at the Hudson Valley MOCA, New York.
