Tides of Man might have lost their energetic side, but they remain just as vivid and melodic as ever. The intro track Desolate. Young and Courageous may, in the end, lack some of the personality of the previous two releases. Gone are the soaring vocals of Tillian, most of the melodic leads and the immediacy of the music. But it its place is a surprisingly mature post-rock record from a band that used to excel at completely different things, and if that’s not considered an achievement worth extolling, than what is" Tides of Man may consider themselves in the middle of a a self-described "identity crisis", but they sound right at home.

Tides Of Man are an instrumental post-rock (formerly ssive) band from Tampa, Florida. Their first album, "Empire Theory" came out on Rise Records in August of 2009. Tides of Man is an American progressive rock band formed in Tampa, Florida formed in 2008. The band currently consists of members Spencer Gill (lead guitar), Josh Gould (drums), Alan Jaye (bass guitar), and Daniel Miller (guitar). The band's former lead vocalist Tilian Pearson departed from the group in 2010. Currently an independent band, they signed with Rise Records and released the studio albums Empire Theory (2009) and Dreamhouse (2010).
