Wally is the 1974 eponymous first album by the band Wally. While the band fitted broadly into the progressive rock category, there was more than a hint of country, rock about the album, especially with Paul Middleton's steel guitar. The album is very much of its time, and shows influences of The Byrds, Crosby, Stills & Nash and the like
WALLY is a strange band, they started playing some sort of Symphonic Country, which wouldn't be strange "per se" if they were from USA, but this guys were British and their debut album was produces by Rick Wakeman, so it's kind of unusual
Alan 'Wally' Waller or Wally Allen (born 9 April 1944) is an English bassist and producer. He was a member of the Pretty Things on their most famous records, . Sorrow and Parachute. Wally Waller was born Alan Edward Waller in Barnehurst and grew up in neighbouring Bexley, then in Kent. In the early 1960s, Wally Waller played the rhythm guitar in Bern Elliott and the Fenmen, a five-piece beat and rhythm and blues band

His name is derived from the Green Monster, the nickname of the 37-foot 2-inch wall in left field at Fenway Park.
