Scientist is renowned as one of Germany’s most prolific record collectors, as anyone who heard his 2013 mix of 70s Soviet Grooves for Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel will testify

Over the past few years, DJ Scientist has become an important figure in the German Hip-Hop, Rare Groove and Electronic scene. Aside from his own projects, such as the two solo albums For Better, For Worse and The One Man Band Instrumentals as well as The Soviet Tape album together with French producer Fulgeance, he has produced and co-produced several other LPs, EPs and singles. DJ Faust & DJ Shortee, Sole & The Skyrider Band, Egyptian Lover, Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop, Latyrx (Lateef & Lyrics Born), DiViNCi, Boca45, Thesis Sahib, Mirko Machine, Busy Bee, and has toured Europe four times.

The Soviet Tape is a new collaboration between Fulgeance & DJ Scientist. Their debut single 'Moscow Nightlife' is the perfect introduction to their sound: heavy instrumental hip hop culled exclusively from Scientist's un-rivalled collection of vintage Soviet-era records.
