The world has lost a great pioneer in American Reggae Joseph Israel whose debut album Gone Are The Days was released in 2007 by Universal Music, the first such album since the catalog of Bob Marley and the Wailers was reissued. Staying true to the authentic roots of Jamaican reggae, Joseph Israel recorded and toured with many veterans from reggae's birthplace over the years.

The Best of the Wailers is the fourth studio album by The Wailers, released in August 1971. Despite its title, it is not a compilation album. The album was recorded in 1969–1970 (prior to the band's involvement with Lee Perry) but only released in 1971.
