Description

iamamiwhoami; kin – audiovisual album physical release 20130611 on To whom it may concern.

Though clearly influenced by artists such as Portishead, Bjork, and the Knife, Sweden's iamamiwhoami manages to pull together some extremely captivating and eccentric tracks on her full-length debut.

Kin is the sophomore audiovisual album by iamamiwhoami. it consists of 9 audiovisual episodes connected by its narrative

Kin is iamamiwhoami's first full-length album, about two years after releasing two series of music videos (dubbed the "Preludes" and "Bounty" series) on YouTube. Additionally, during the Grammis in 2011, an anonymous woman accepted the Innovator of the Year award on behalf of iamamiwhoami and opened an envelope to reveal a blank piece of paper, hinting that the album had been in production since 2011. The album was eventually confirmed by Cooperative Music in February 2012. Unlike most traditional albums which only release singles after.

Kin’ is her audio-visual project – each glacial electro-pop track is matched by an equally unsettling video. Crucially, though, these elegant songs stand up even when stripped of their filmic storylines. In either form, they’re really quite magical.

Running from an initial set of prelude videos to a series of full-length songs, the videos and songs form a continuous story featuring Lee as a protagonist. iamamiwhoami released their debut physical album, the audiovisual album Kin, in June 2012, while the initial full-length series, Bounty (2010–2011), was released physically in June 2013. A third album, Blue, was released in November 2014. The project has also remixed songs for Moby and The Irrepressibles, as well as performing live in concert tours revolving around the releases of Kin, Bounty and Blue.

kin" is the sophomore audiovisual album by iamamiwhoami. It consists of 9 connected audiovisual chapters connected by its narrative. The story evolves around the project’s creative process and the battles with conventions and norms in the making of the series and album itself, all seen from the eyes of iamamiwhoami in relation to their audience. kin" was released in episodes during 2012 and as musical album and film in 2012 on To whom it may concern.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm), Import. iamamiwhoami Format: Vinyl. This is a great album from beginning to end. I never had heard of IAMAMIWHOAMI or Jonna Lee prior to six monhs ago, but I am sure glad I stumbled upon her. The album takes advantage of the listner by creating a smooth atmosphere (almost like a lullaby) with sever, and then immediately pulls you for with the agression of drops. The album does this over and over again culmenating in a pop song "goods" when is like a swedish throughback top 40 song.

iamamiwhoami is the kind of artist that won't measure efforts to make the best piece of art you will discover on the internet (their home). This was the first vinyl I ever bought overseas and I still remember the day I got it on the mail. It worth every cent spent when I opened it and saw the giant photobook with pictures of Jonna through every kin song, balancing the dark tones with the light as she reveals herself. kin is that album you need to dive in to discover an world filled with simplicity, blank spaces and experimental music.Favorite songs: good worker, idle talk, in due order, rascal.

Amazing album and my favorite of theirs. but i truly wish this was mastered for vinyl much better with it being such beautiful electronic sounds! most notably on "good worker".. ps:does anyone elses have a "made in czech republic" sticker on the shrink wrap of theirs?i found it strange as this is the only vinyl release of this album yet was made in the uk?
