Night Birds, released in 1982 on the Polydor label, is the second album by English jazz-funk band Shakatak. Night Birds established Shakatak's trademark jazz-funk sound, and contains two of the band's biggest hits, "Easier Said than Done" and "Night Birds", the former reaching the No. 12 spot in 1981, the latter climbing to No. 9 in the following year. All tracks written by William "Bill" Sharpe and Roger Odell except where indicated.

Jazz Funk was centred during the late 70's and followed on until the mid 80's, with other similar Bands. From listening to Night Birds which was in the UK charts in 1982, the samples taken from various instruments, like the Guitar and Piano along with other samples with an electronic drum beat, enabling the Band to create a different sound system, which allowed Jazz to be used as a basis for creating funk, which was unique in which party goers were enabled
