Description

Haydn had been his great example: Mozart himself wrote 41 symphonies. On this release are the two final symphonies

Mozart, Rafael Kubelik, Symphonie-Orchester Des Bayerischen Rundfunks - Symphony No. 40, . 50 & Symphony No. 41, . 51 (Jupiter) ‎(CD, Album, RE). CBS Masterworks Digital.

Mozart: Symphony No. 35 "Haffner", Symphony No. 40, Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter". Symphonie Orchester Des Bayerischen Rundfunks Rafael Kubelik (conductor). Track listing: Genre: Classical - Orchestral. Mahler: Symphony No. 3 - Kubelik. This makes not really sense for me because the recording was made digital in 1980 in something different then 44,1k (50kHz i guess like the Ry Cooder and Donald Fagen recordings)and less then 16Bit. Maybe a 3m or a Sony digital reel 2 reel was used (aside with the Denon digital recording devices the only present at the market at that time) for recording.

The symphonies in G minor, K. 550 (no. 40), and C Major, K. 551 (no. 41, also known as 'The Jupiter') are the ones that most represent Mozart's symphonic legacy to later generations of musicians. As early as 1800, the popular 'Great' G minor Symphony was praised as the 'painting of a passion-stricken soul'. Like its big sister, the 'Jupiter' Symphony in C Major, it numbers among the most-played works in classical music and has been immortalized in countless recordings. The eminent Swedish conductor Herbert Blomstedt, a close associate and regular guest conductor of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducted the G minor Symphony in concerts on January 31 and February 1, 2013 and the 'Jupiter' Symphony on December 21 and 22, 2017 in the Herkulessaal of Munich's Residenz. Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks Herbert Blomstedt, conductor.

Mozart Symphony N. 5 in D Major, . 85 "Haffner". Symphony N. 0 in G Minor, . 50. Finale: Allegro assai. 1 in C Major, . 51 "Jupiter".
