René Pawlowitz (born 1975 in Frankfurt/Oder) is a Berlin-based techno DJ and producer, better known under his moniker Shed. René Pawlowitz was born in 1975 in the East-German town of Frankfurt/Oder and grew up in Schwedt/Oder. In the early 1990s he became interested in electronic music. In 2002 he moved to Berlin and founded his own label Soloaction Records, where he released his first EP Red Planet Express as Shed in 2004

For Rene Pawlowitz’s third full-length album, The Traveller becomes The Killer. Released back in 2010, The Traveller was an arresting combination of skeletal dubstep, gutted broken beat and lush techno verdure, serving to crystallise the activities running along a certain London-Berlin axis whilst simultaneously putting most of the competition to shame. Pawlowitz has many names and faces, but his best music tends to display incredible poise, balanced on a knife edge between skin-tingling bliss and a clinically precise form of sonic violence.

Tracklist: 1. STP3/The Killer, 2. Silent Witness, 3. I Come By Night, 4. Gas Up, 5. Day After, 6. Phototype, 7. The Praetorian (LP Mix), 8. Ride On, 9. You Got The Look, 10. VIOMF!/The Filler, 11.

Shed - The Killer For an artist with so many aliases, it's striking how instantly recognizable Shed's music can be. Whether he's doing straight-up techno, dubstep or the abstract vignettes of his last album The Traveller, the stony-faced stare of Rene Pawlowitz is never too hidden. But with two albums under the Shed moniker so markedly different from each other, and a growing universe of pseudonyms, there was a big question mark looming over The Killer, the third Shed album and first on 50 Weapons. What would it sound like? The answer: like a Shed album

The gaseous (and Gas-eous) ambient interludes, too, are perfectly sequenced, offering soothing counterpoints to the album's most pummelling efforts. 50. "STP3/The Killer," "Silent Witness," and "I Come By Night" are exceptions, however-somewhere along the line a spark's been snuffed out.
