Released in line with the hugely successful ‘We All Stand Together’ single, Paul’s Rupert and The Frog Song went on to become the biggest selling video of 1985 and was later nominated for the Best Music Video – Short Form at the 1986 Grammys. As well as featuring the main story of Rupert's adventures with the frog chorus, the video also came with two other short films, Seaside Woman and The Oriental Nightfish, both featuring music by Linda McCartney.

This is a super portrait of Paul McCartney and Rupert. I love it. You could just imagine it happening when Paul recorded that lovely song featuring Rupert and the frog chorus. gagambo Featured By Owner Apr 21, 2014 Traditional Artist. I had a few of his records as well as Beatles records before I had to sell them off, but I still have two of his solo albums recorded from it. Oh, and I also have Rupert and the Frog Song on DVD. Reply. gagambo Featured By Owner Apr 19, 2014 Traditional Artist. Thanks so much for submitting this to the group xoxo I haven't read Rupert the bear comics yet but I think that's very cute. I loved Tintin comics a lot when I was a child (actually I still do) so I'm sure I'd.

Rupert Bear is a children's comic strip character created by the English artist Mary Tourtel and first appearing in the Daily Express newspaper on 8 November 1920. Rupert's initial purpose was to win sales from the rival Daily Mail and Daily Mirror. In 1935, the mantle of Rupert artist and storyteller was taken over by Alfred Bestall, who was previously an illustrator for Punch and other glossy magazines.

Following the release of the album London Town (1978), Wings band leader Paul McCartney hired two session musicians, drummer Steve Holly and lead guitarist Laurence Juber, to replace former members Joe English and Jimmy McCulloch. With the new line-up – Wings’ sixth since its formation in 1971 – McCartney intended to record a raw rock and roll album and return to touring, for the band’s first concerts since their acclaimed Wings Over the World tour of 1975–76

Paul’s inspiration for the song ‘We All Stand Together’ stemmed from the realisation that something he loved so much as a child was a firm favourite with his own children. He dug out his old Rupert the Bear seasonal annuals and wrote the song. The song was released in November 1984 and reached number 3 in the UK charts. The video was released simultaneously and became the biggest selling video of 1985 as well as being nominated for the ‘Best Music Video – Short Form’ at the Grammy Awards in 1986. The song can be found on Paul’s 1987 greatest hits album ‘All The Best’. More than 10 years on, we’re still standing together!
