Yellowcard was an American rock band that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1997 and were based in Los Angeles beginning in 2000. The band is well known for its singles "Ocean Avenue", "Only One", and "Lights and Sounds". The group's music is distinctive within its genre because it features the prominent use of a violin. The band released ten studio albums, with its most recent and final one, Yellowcard, released on September 30, 2016.
Midget Tossing is Yellowcard's debut album, released in 1997 by Takeover Records. It was recorded in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, at the Music Factory by Michael Ray FitzGerald. Ryan Key and Sean Mackin were not yet members of the group but made guest appearances, on background vocals and violin respectively. Nowadays, the album is currently out of print. To some people, these are the reasons why this was probably the worst album that Yellowcard has ever released, but those opinions don't matter. Lift A Sail was released on October 7, 2014 through Razor & Tie.
Yellowcard is, not shockingly, an album all about resolution. It’s also about burying the hatchet on grudges and relationships gone sour. The above quote, taken directly from the chorus of the opening track and lead single ‘Rest In Peace’, is the ultimate tone-setter for what is to follow. Gliding in on buoyant, weightless-sounding keys along with some reverb, the track crashes like a wave into a sea of electric guitars and drumming that will take any longtime fan back to stalwart openers.

Yellowcard is Yellowcard’s tenth and final studio album, released on Hopeless Records. The band announced in June of 2016 that the record would be their final release, and that they would be embarking on one last world tour before disbanding. Much of the recording process for Yellowcard was done by the band themselves in Ryan Key’s crowdfunded The Lone Tree Recordings studio.
