This cover and label variation to Peter Bellamy - Peter Bellamy is probably a reissue to correct the references to the phantom track. In this version the front slick bears a photo of Peter centered beneath the title and the back is all text with liner notes by Lisa Null and notes by Peter about the songs. The track durations have been moved to the label and now include the missing duration for B9. There is no label code other than the catalog number.
Not all experiments in the British folk style work (see Shirley & Dolly Collins' often pretentious suites for proof), but The Transports is a simply fascinating album that works on all levels, as a story, as a cohesive work, and as an excellent set of songs.
Peter Franklyn Bellamy (8 September 1944 – 24 September 1991) was an English folk singer. He was a founding member of The Young Tradition but also had a long solo career, recording numerous albums and touring folk clubs and concert halls. He committed suicide in 1991. Peter Bellamy was born in Bournemouth and spent his formative years in North Norfolk, living in the village of Warham and attending Fakenham Grammar School in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His father worked as a farm bailiff. It wasn't until Bellamy's eighth album in 1975 that he recorded any of his own compositions

Peter Bellamy spent his formative years in his native North Norfolk, living in the village of Wighton and attending Fakenham Grammar School in the late 1950s/early 1960s. It wasn't until Bellamy's eighth album in 1975 that he recorded any of his own compositions. In the same year he recorded a collection of Rudyard Kipling's Barrack Room Ballads (see below). Having mastered the art of putting new words to a traditional song and his own words to a traditional tune, he then wrote a ballad-opera: "The Transports".
