Fake" is a 1987 single by Alexander O'Neal. The single was O'Neal's most successful song on both soul and pop charts
Fake" is a song written by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and recorded by American recording artist Alexander O'Neal. It is the first single from the singer's second solo album, Hearsay (1987).
Fake was the lead single from Alexander O'Neal’s sophomore album Hearsay. Jimmy Jam lauded Alexander’s versatility as a vocalist being able to both caress a tender ballad and yet rise to the challenge of a funky song like Fake. The song went on the R&B charts that year and set the tone for the rest of the album’s chart success.
