Although a folk album at heart, The Last Laugh owes as much to baroque pop and pastoral psychedelia as the folk traditions that provide its foundation. Singer/songwriter Helena Costas is a modern-day troubadour, a student of Arthurian legend one moment and an indie temptress the next, and she plays each role for several scenes before flitting off to the wings to change. Had The Last Laugh been her own solo project, these unusual tales of goblins, jousting knights, and jellybeans might seem too fanciful for their own good.

While locked up in the Slab penitentiary, the Joker finds out he is suffering from a terminal brain tumor. Determined to go out with a bang, he uses a venom to "jokerize" other inmates, making them insane and changing their appearance, giving them white skin, green hair, and a wide smile. A riot breaks out in the Slab and Black Canary, Nightwing, and Batman move in to put it down while Dina Bell and Shilo Norman are trapped inside.

Last Laugh biography Starting out in late 1992, Swedish trio LAST LAUGH began creating alternative heavy rock influenced by bands like KING's X, PRIMUS and the 70's LED ZEPPELIN and KING CRIMSON. In 1996 LAST LAUGH decided to try to gain attention with a self produced CD EP instead of demo cassettes.
