The traditional Berber roots of Algeria's music have been fused with modern influences including funk, rap, and rock to create the infectious dance music of Mohand Azar. Born in the Algerian city of Kabyle, Azar grew up in northern France where he moved with his parents at the age of three months. While visiting relatives in Kabyle, Azar "rediscovered" his musical heritage and devoted himself to learning the basic rudiments of Berber music. Mohand Muhammed Fayiz al-Shehri (May 7, 1979 – September 11, 2001) was one of five hijackers aboard United Airlines Flight 175 as part of the September 11 attacks. Despite his name, he was not related to Wail al-Shehri nor Waleed al-Shehri, brothers who boarded American Airlines Flight 11 to hijack it as part of the attacks. A Saudi, Shehri was a former college student who dropped out after failing his courses.

Boogaloo is the twentieth studio album by the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, released in August 1998. It was produced by Mike Ging. It was the last studio recording to feature drummer and founding member Darrell Sweet before his death in 1999. The album also features guest performances by bassist Pete Agnew's son Lee, who later replaced Sweet as the band's drummer. The album was recorded at the Parkgate studios, Catsfield in East Sussex in 1997.
