Rainbow Brown – Rainbow Brown. Label: Vanguard – VSD 79439. Format: Vinyl, LP, Album. Rainbow Brown were the brainchild of legendary producer/songwriter Patrick Adams. Lead vocals are gloriously provided by Fonda Rae. On the New York based label Vanguard Records, the group released their only album entitled 'Rainbow Brown', re-released here on Traffic. Classic Joey Negro sample-fest ‘Til You Surrender’ headlines the cuts here, swiftly followed by ‘I’m The One’, and the awesome disco of ‘It Aint No Big Thing’. Awesome use of strings and salsa beats, a Paradise Garage favourite of Levan and Krivit.
Rainbow Brown comprised of: Fonda Rae (all lead vocals), Yvonne Lewis, Lucy Martin, and Ullanda McCullough. Rainbow Brown were the brainchild of legendary producer, songwriter Patrick Adams. The group were a studio concept act with their name referring to the different shades of Black Music Stylings in existence at the time. Signing to the New York based label Vanguard Records, the group released their only album to date entitled 'Rainbow Brown'.
