The concept of TALKING WITH THE BLUES is based on a view of the various US states as blues regions. Even casual blues listeners are familiar with the fact that there is Chicago Blues or Mississippi Blues and the gripping social history of the music is very much marked by its geography.

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" is a song recorded by American country music singer-songwriter Hank Williams in 1949. The song has been covered by a wide range of musicians. probably the saddest song I've ever heard. According to Colin Escott's 2004 book Hank Williams: A Biography, Williams was inspired to write the song when he found it on a schedule of upcoming MGM releases.
