Ire Works is the third studio album by American band the Dillinger Escape Plan. The album was released in the UK on November 5, 2007, in the US on November 13 through Relapse Records, and in the Japan on November 28. The album was their last album on the Relapse. The album is Gil Sharone's first and last album with the band and their first without founding drummer Chris Pennie. Lead guitarist Ben Weinman plays guitar alone on the record, due to Brian Benoit's injury.

Dillinger Escape Plan are relentlessly brutal and sometimes even unpalatable, but their music has always been strikingly original and interesting. Even if you can't really wrap your mind around the octatonic guitar riffing or the alternating asymmetric time signatures, hearing what probably sounds to you like a very heavy version of circus music will at least pique your interest, whether by inspiring fear and disgust or awe and admiration. Calculating Infinity was a more brutal release  . On a song to song level, Ire Works contains some blistering songs. The album starts admirably, albeit predictably, with "Fix Your Face" (or as I think of it "Panasonic Youth pt. 2") and "Lurch. Both tracks serve as a reintroduction to how brutal and challenging DEP can be.

After Miss Machine, Dillinger Escape Plan fans were divided. Many of the folks who were attached to the screaming mathematical metal of Calculating Infinity bailed on the band, disapproving of the experimental musical direction and the meathead appearance of new singer/screamer Greg Puciato. Open-minded listeners were excited about the progressive journey they were taking and many critics hailed the group as a true innovator of metalcore. Ire Works succeeds in many of the same ways that their previous album did, while branching out creatively.
