Lou Gramm is a rock and roll guy, and this album SMOKES!!! Glad to have you back Lou! Be healthy and stay strong. This is, hands down, the best thing Lou Gramm has been involved in, as far as I know, since Ready or Not in 1987, though I must admit I haven't heard the Shadow Kings stuff. It's pretty much a Christian rock album, but don't cringe, because the songs are universally catchy with crunchy riffs and passionate playing.

Gramm - the former lead vocalist and co-writer of the multi-platinum band Foreigner - has become the voice of a generation. Among the most distinctive and powerful voices to emerge from Rock and Top 40 radio, Lou Gramm is also a successful solo artist in his own right and remains one of the most recognizable performers in music today.
But that's just what Lou Gramm did in 2009 with his new group and its self-titled album, The Lou Gramm Band. It's his first "solo" effort since 1989's Long Hard Look. The album rocks convincingly, and the lyrics vividly reflect his born-again Christian faith. It's a miracle that the ex-Foreigner vocalist lived to reach this point. After surviving surgery to remove a benign brain tumor in 1997, he struggled to regain his health and his voice. Sonically, The Lou Gramm Band has some production flourishes, but it's mostly no-nonsense and straightforward. The best originals are "Made to Be Broken," "Willing to Forgive," "Baptized by Fire," "Single Vision," and "Rattle Yer Bones.
