"The Faith Healer" was covered by Australian psychedelic rock band The Church on their 1999 covers album A Box of Birds. Coincidentally, in the same year ex-Marillion singer Fish released his version on the album Raingods With Zippos. A Box of Birds is the twelfth album by the Australian psychedelic rock band The Church, released in September 1999. It consists of cover versions of tracks by artists who were influential on the group's music. The album was released after the band's decision to abandon an already-complete live.

Next also produced the Sensational Alex Harvey Band's first hit single with "Faith Healer," the creepy tale of a religious con artist that blends an intense vocal from Harvey with a thunderous, guitar-driven wall of sound production
