Tical 0: The Prequel is the third studio album by American rapper Method Man. The album was released on May 18, 2004, by Def Jam Recordings. The album features production from Sean "Puffy" Combs and Rockwilder, among others, as well as guest appearances from Missy Elliott, Snoop Dogg, and Ludacris. Who am I to argue? At its best, this one offers brief bursts of okay-to-decent tracks.

The Bad:The track The Prequel was a weak way to kick off the album as Meth spits some unenthusiastic bars on the track. Busta Rhymes and Method Man deliver the most dissapointing collabo joints of all time, What's Happenin'(sick beat, mediocre rhymes). I was excited to hear they had a joint together but when I heard it I wasnt impressed.

Despite a few joints that will probably bring the house down in a grand fashion ("Act Right" with its trademarked Rockwilder bounce and "What's Happenin'" with Meth and Rhymes bouncing bars off each other like bullets on stone) and guest appearances that on paper should elevate things to a considerably higher level (Kardinal Offishall, Ludacris and Saukrates), this album just doesn't deliver. The guests sound uninspired and the production goes in one ear and out the other without leaving much of an impression in any way whatsoever. So what about Meth himself? He treads the same lyrical ground that we've gotten used to hearing from him for many years already. And while he still does it rather well, it ultimately just leaves you wanting something new for a change. If this album is anything to go by, then the voices of dissent regarding the state of NY hip hop suddenly start to make all the more sense.
