Zella Day Kerr (born March 13, 1995), known simply as Zella Day, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician from Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona. Day began recording music in her early teens, independently releasing her debut album, Powered by Love, in 2009. Following its success, Day worked as a songwriter for BMG Publishing Group and eventually landed a Hollywood Records artist deal. In 2015, Day released her major label debut, Kicker, which was preceded by singles "Hypnotic" and "East of Eden"

Kicker is the second studio album and major label debut by American singer and songwriter Zella Day, released on June 2, 2015 by Pinetop Records and Hollywood Records. The album's first single, "Hypnotic", was released on February 27, 2015. The second single, "High", was released on May 1, 2015. Production for Day's self-titled EP began shortly after she moved to Las Vegas in 2012. The majority of the song writing and production took place during April 2014 in Los Angeles

To date, Zella Day’s music has barely crossed paths with the outside world; however, her short series of self-released demos and collaborations caught fire throughout the indie community. One such supporter of her undeniable talent was the boutique music press outlet B3SCI. Having recently formed a singles record imprint, B3SCI was undoubtedly the natural home for the songwriter's first official offering to the world. Crunching drum machines and menacing electronics juxtapose Zella’s airy croons as she sings about the sanctity of physical connection, powerfully portraying both the majesty and fragility of letting love consume you. The B-side, 1965, takes a more straightforward approach, showcasing Zella’s strong voice atop soft, pattering drums and fluttering guitars.
