Ronald Balfour Corbett CBE (4 December 1930 – 31 March 2016) was a Scottish stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and broadcaster, best known for his long association with Ronnie Barker in the BBC television comedy sketch show The Two Ronnies. He achieved prominence in David Frost's 1960s satirical comedy programme The Frost Report (with Barker) and subsequently starred in sitcoms such as No – That's Me Over Here!, Now Look Here, and Sorry!.
His publicist said: "Ronnie Corbett CBE, one of the nation's best-loved entertainers, passed away this morning, surrounded by his loving family. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very sad time. Corbett was one of the UK's best-loved comedians and along with Ronnie Barker; their double act was one of the most successful of the 1970s and '80s. Given that Ronnie Barker was a man of high standards and strong views that is an extraordinary achievement as the history of double acts is peppered with stories of partnerships that are less than friendly off-stage. It might have been different if Corbett had been fighting to get his material on the show, but they avoided that bear trap. Barker contributed his sketches under the pseudonym of Gerald Wiley to ensure it was used on merit - indeed Corbett once set about trying to find Wiley because he wanted to use one of his sketches in his stage show

Diminutive British comic Ronnie Corbett (December 4, 1930-March 31, 2016) was hailed as a huge talent, rising to prominence on the 1960s satirical TV show, The Frost Report. I made the Big Mac with our regular small bun, but it was just too sloppy to move around, Delligatti told CBS Station KDKA in 2002. So I went out and got a double cut bun to make the sandwich the way it is now. That was 1967. In 1968, it went national; everybody had it. Though it took a few tries to get a name that stuck - the Big Mac - the burger would become one of the fast-food chain’s most popular items.
