Songwriter is an album by Justin Hayward released in February 1977. It was later rereleased on CD in 1987 with two bonus tracks, "Marie" (originally released as a single in 1979) and "Learning the Game" (a previously unreleased track, written by Buddy Holly). The album was released again on Decca in April 2004 with the additional bonus tracks "Wrong Time, Right Place" and "Heart of Steel" (the B-side of the "Marie" single). All songs were written by Justin Hayward, except where noted.
Hayward wrote all of the songs and played all of the instruments on the songs "Raised On Love" and "Nostradamus. The album also features musicians Hayward had worked with on his previous project, Blue Jays recorded with John Lodge.
Night Flight (Justin Hayward album). Night Flight is a studio album by Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward, released on Decca Records in 1980. It was reissued on CD in September 1989. Listen to All The Way by Justin Hayward - a new album (release date: October 14, 2016) @ New Releases No. Justin Hayward is the possessor of one of the finest and most distinctive voices in melodic rock. Guitarist, vocalist and songwriter for the Moody Blues since 1966, Justin continues to perform with the group, and alongside his work with the band, he has developed an acclaimed and successful solo career.
The album came about as a result of Hayward's involvement in Jeff Wayne's musical adaptation of War of the Worlds. The music was mostly pop and dance oriented, and most of the tracks were romantic love songs. It was not a favourite with Moody Blues fans, and was not a commercial success. The title track was the last to be recorded for the album. In April 2004, the album was remastered and released on CD with two extra tracks.
Hayward had already been performing since the early ’60s when he answered an ad placed in a British music paper by Eric Burdon of the Animals. Burdon passed Hayward’s demo tape on to Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues, who hired Hayward immediately to replace departing singer Denny Laine (who went on to join Paul McCartney’s Wings).
