Romantic Warrior" brought 4 of the world's most talented and creative musicians together (Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Lenny White and Al Di Meola). Right from the onset you know that this album is going to be pushing all cylinders. Songs are nice and long and certainly cover a nice wide range of moods and textures. especially in their wide use of instrumentation. Corea employs a wide range of keyboards, synths, organ, piano while Clarke accents with his own classic bass textures (Piccolo bass, acoustic bass, fretless bass).

When listening to Romantic Warrior the first thing that stands out is Chick Corea's electric keyboard playing. Throughout the album his mad skill sparkles creating a majestic and bouncy atmosphere. Corea's energetic style is immediately apparent on the albums opener Medieval Overature overshadowing both the bass and guitar playing. Towards the middle of the song Stanley Clarke's quick bass playing is compelling yet sublime and Corea's lush keyboard chords are the icing on the cake making Medieval Overture a zany little number that will get you on yo' feet in no time

Romantic Warrior is the sixth studio album by the American jazz fusion band Return to Forever, released in 1976 by Columbia Records. After releasing their previous album, No Mystery (1975), their fourth for Polydor Records, the group moved to Columbia and retreated to Caribou Ranch near Nederland, Colorado to record their next album. The album was recorded in a ranch located near the town of Nederland, Colorado (pictured in 2005). Romantic Warrior was recorded in February 1976 at Caribou Ranch, located near Nederland, Colorado. Chick Corea contributed the longest compositions and the other members each composed one piece.
