The discography of Beck, an American rock musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and t, consists of 13 studio albums, one compilation album, one remix album, three extended plays (EPs) and 45 singles.

The Information also had the artist renewing his working relationship with Nigel Godrich, the British producer who was by now a frequent returning member of Beck’s creative cast. The album overflowed with crisply performed and produced, imaginative 21st century pop-rock, on songs like ‘Think I’m In Love’ and ‘Strange Apparition,’ which he was able to present with his usual trendsetting audio-visual flair, which once again caught the industry by surprise  . Beck began work on the songs that comprised The Information as far back as 2003, long before Guero and soon after the release of the last of his collaborations with Godrich, the stripped-down Sea Change. During this mid-2000s period, the producer divided his time between the Beck album and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, the album he oversaw for Paul McCartney. Backyard was the appropriate word for the creation of The Information, too, as Godrich remembered in the Rolling Stone feature. We built a little studio in his garden, he said.

We're moving into a time when the song and the imagery and video are all able to exist as one thing," says Beck. It's not even technically an audio thing anymore. It's something else  . As of July 2008, The Information has sold 434,000 copies in the United States. With listeners accustomed to hearing a brand new side of Beck on each album up to 2002's Sea Change, critics would describe his works afterwards as being "Beck-like", meaning they sounded more like revisits instead of reinventions.

Beck’s album, The Information was released on Tuesday October 3. The album’s fifteen songs each have an associated music video, released on a DVD with the album. The videos which were uploaded to YouTube were deleted. However, it is possible to stream some of the videos from Beck’s Myspace or from his official site. This continues, apparently plotless, with occasional appearances of a dancing girl. Elevator Music begins with a man standing still in a space suit, his hand up. A tennis player drinks from a straw. Beck’s rapping while holding a rifle, magazine strap over his shoulder. Behind him a man in white practices martial arts. The clip switches between the tennis player, spaceman, Beck, bassist, and martial artist. In No Complaints Beck sings and plays guitar. A sticker on it says I love motorcycles.
