Submitted by wiley207 (not verified) on Sun, 06/24/2012 - 19:55. Wow, they made the wolf NOTHING like in the original cartoon! I don't remember his voice sounding so demonic. And the illustrations (Recycled from a 1940s Little Golden Book) makes the wolf look like a black-furred Fowlfellow fox! Though it was cute when he impersonated the sheep with a "ba-a-a-ah!"ing voice (he didn't in the original).

Walt Disney’s great classic, the Three Little Pigs is considered as the most successful short animation film of all times. Its success can be attributed to the fact that it was symbolic enough to represent the Great Depression and what the average American was going through. The "Three Little Pigs" march through the crowd greeting guests during a New Year's Day parade ahead of the 'Year of the Pig' at Tokyo Disneyland in Urayasu, suburban Tokyo, 01 January 2007. The three little pigs threw their apples and struck the wolf in the head. As the wolf lay stunned, they hurried down the tree and made their escape. Soon they saw the wolf coming up the hill. Turning the butter-churn on its side, they rolled it down the hill. The butter-churn knocked the wolf off his feet. Before the wolf managed to get back up, the three little pigs were well on their way back home. They’ve beaten me for the last time! He walked to the side of the brick house and climbed onto the roof. I’ll sneak into the house through the chimney, he said with a laugh. But the three little pigs had spotted him through the window. I like the Disney version of the Three Little Pigs the best out there, perhaps because I can not read any other versions without my brain cells telling my tongue what to say from the Disney version. No matter what, I had to get the Disney book again. Now, I can huff and puff like I used to when I read to the grandchildren.

In 1972 Walt Disney recreated the classic tale of the three little pigs, a story of about three brother pigs and a hungry wolf. In Walt Disney’s version the three little pigs are told that they are old enough to move out of their mother’s house, which is down the bottom of a hill. The Three Little Pigs is a fable about three pigs who build three houses of different materials. A Big Bad Wolf blows down the first two pigs' houses, made of straw and sticks respectively, but is unable to destroy the third pig's house, made of bricks. Printed versions date back to the 1840s, but the story itself is thought to be much older. The phrases used in the story, and the various morals drawn from it, have become embedded in Western culture.
