Basically, i think fuzz face is better for 'general purpose fuzz', and muffs are best if your using it mostly for lead playing. I love my Dunlop mini (FFM1), and I'm hoping to get a Nano Big Muff soon. It does fuzz face, tonebender, silicon, germanium, has a tight knob, and a smooth switch. It does everything you can imagine a fuzz could. However it won't sound like my Russian green muff, but for what you are describing I think the Tight Fuzz is what your looking for.
