An odd one all-round. This second Kjol album may be credited as "Brigeen Doran's Kjol" yet it doesn't seem to be his band, as he doesn't compose anything and he leaves all the prime solo work to the featured guest Fernando Saunders. It's also not at all like its predecessor, as that was quite a quirky and lively jazz-rock album with an overall style, whereas this runs such a wide gamut of styles that it could almost be a various artists release. The counterpoints of almost straight modern jazz against funk and soul reminds of some stuff Stanley Clarke did 5 years earlier on his "School Days" album, and it's that audience that they seem to be aiming at here.
