Formed in 1986 in El Cajon, California back in 1986, Psychotic Waltz were at the forefront of the original progressive metal movement. Combining equal doses from bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Metallica, the band released four highly-regarded albums in 6 years before splitting up in the late 1990s. The band recently reunited have begun writing their fifth album, due in late 2014.

After "Mosquito" this is my favourite PSYCHOTIC WALTZ album. If you prefer the complex style of metal then check out the first two records they made. The fourth and final album from the brilliant band Psychotic Waltz is the most normally structured and metal like album. It�s also the weakest in my ears ( only weak compared to the other three albums by the band)

Some fans were unhappy with Psychotic Waltz’s previous release, ‘Mosquito’, which simplified the typical Psychotic Waltz formula by removing the complex progressive arrangements and replacing them with a simpler, more pop-orientated psychedelic sound. Instead of returning to their prog roots with ‘Bleeding’, Psychotic Waltz continue along the lines of ‘Mosquito’, a move that easily could have ended in disaster. However, Psychotic Waltz manage to improve the sound in every way, creating what many see as their best work. The most noticeable change between this and ‘Mosquito’ is the production.
