Already Platinum is the debut album by American rapper Slim Thug. The album was released on July 12, 2005 on Pharrell and Chad Hugo's Star Trak label. The original release date was slated for February 2005, but heavy bootlegging and numerous delays held the album back, forcing a vast majority of its original track listing to be replaced. The original track listing included the original version of the track "I Ain't Heard of That," which featured Jay-Z.

Slim Thug (born Stayve Jerome Thomas on September 8, 1980) is a rapper from Houston, Texas. He began his career with Swishahouse in the late 90s. After realizing how much money he could make distributing his own mixtapes, he parted ways with Swishahouse on good terms and formed his own independent label, Boss Hogg Outlawz (named after the Dukes of Hazzard character). He is officially signed to Boss Hogg Outlawz/E1 Music. Slim Thug's debut album, Already Platinum, was released on July 12, 2005.

While the Neptunes gave Thug a crossover appeal that other Texas rappers didn’t have, Already Platinum also gave prominent placement to two tracks by veteran Houston producer Mr. Lee. 3 Kings and Diamonds huff and puff with such incredible thunder that listening to them is something like staring down the front end of a field artillery battalion. Slim Thug is not a complicated man. The enormous Houston MC relies almost entirely on the intertwined lyrical themes of I'm Awesome and I'm Rich, sometimes dipping into I'll Kill You or I Don't Care About Women. But that's OK- the anticipation surrounding Already Platinum, Slim's debut album, has nothing to do with the man's lyrical prowess. It has everything to do with his voice: a swollen, slurry, guttural drawl that rumbles under tracks like an earthquake and hammers vowels until any one word can rhyme with any other word

He's more than happy to tell you this through the title of his first official album, released by the Neptunes' Star Trak label via Geffen. It's one way to twist the actual definition of platinum (a million sales for one release, rather than a bunch of them), but it gets the point across: he's a force. On Already Platinum, he's not saying anything you haven't heard before.

Slim Thug's major-label debut solo album released by Geffen Records through Star Trak, the label founded and funded by mega-star producers The Neptunes. Other producers on Almost Platinum include Jazze Pha, who laces Slim with a slicked-out, back-porch soul jam, 'Incredible Feeln'. The album shows off the many different styles that Slim Thug feels makes him a universal MC, despite his Texas roots. The downside of ALREADY PLATINUM is the fact that it is in some senses a ship that has already sailed. There isn't anything out of the ordinary, subject wise to really grab the listener that other rappers have done. What sells ALREADY PLATINUM is the fact that Slim Thug himself is unique and the production is unique, courtesy of THE NEPTUNES. Something else that is interesting is the fact that the introduction to this album is not boring, which is common of intros.
