Radio 4 Extra to broadcast series one of programme which courted controversy with sketches, monologues and stings.

An awesome comedy CD for the open-minded among you. Combines sketches seen on Channel 4's "Jam", and many others with a soundtrack by Warp records (and other electronica labels. Sometimes hilarious, occasionally disturbing. Just like all other Chris Morris' work then!) Reply Notify me 5 Helpful.

Album by Chris Morris. A Zed and Two L's by Fila Brazillia (1995). The Riddle by Nik Kershaw (1984).

Jam is a British horror/comedy sketch show, created, written, and directed by Chris Morris. It was broadcast on Channel 4 between 23 March and 27 April 2000. It was based on the earlier BBC Radio 1 show, Blue Jam, and consists of a series of disturbing and surreal sketches, unfolding over an ambient soundtrack. Many of the sketches re-used the original radio soundtracks with the actors lip-synching their lines, an unusual technique which added to the programme's unsettling atmosphere.

Ooh my... I first heard this on Radio 1 late at night, not knowing what it was, wondering if I was cracking up... This was my first introduction to Chris Morris. At points this is just evocative- no other term of description can be used. Not comedy. Not drama. It is said Morris' primary target on this project was the Medical Proffession, and this is clear on many sketches, least of all the 'Now What Seems To Be The Trouble' sketches... "I think i'm going to do this by telephone" Choice of background music (mostly Trip-Hop and Ambient) is flawless, and most of them (I have a couple on record) will forever be indelibly associated with this experience. 'I can see Steve Lamacq as a frail old man in a wheelchair'...
