In 1970, Bardens recorded The Answer, an album featuring Peter Green and Andy Gee. Bardens recorded an eponymous album in 1971 which was released in the United States as Write My Name in the Dust before forming Camel in 1972. He left Camel in 1978 to join Them bandmate Van Morrison's band. He recorded Wavelength with Morrison and appeared in the line up of the album's promotional tour. By the end of the 1970s, Bardens began exploring electronica and released the album Heart to Heart in 1979  . 1988 - "Whisper in the Wind".

His first single from that album, "In Dreams", enjoyed heavy airplay on FM rock stations in the USA and Australia. In 1988 he followed this with "Speed of Light", on which his long time friend Mick Fleetwood guest featured on several tracks on drums. Whisper in the Wind" and "Gold" were released as singles in the . This album by Pete Bardens doesn't differ too much from the electro-pop of its predecessors. The presence as guests of two old friends like Mick Fleetwood and Andy Latimer is remarkable, but this may be not enough to make a good album. It doesn't open too badly.

It is definitely Floydian, with vocals like Alan Parsons, and is simply excellent. Saw Camel post Pete Bardens, but would have loved to see them with him. Love his post Camel music as well like this song and album it's on. I was just up in Malibu for the Fourth of July. My cousins live there. I taught tennis at the Malibu Tennis Club once.
