Lady in Gold was recorded in analog over two years with producer-engineer Don Alsterberg. The sound is much warmer, and the writing more varied. It's more reliant on psychedelic R&B than bluesy hard rock. The single opens the set with a pumping piano that recalls the production Norman Whitfield used with the Temptations (think "Friendship Train" circa 1970). Larsson pushes right into the guitars and bassline before soaring above them in the dense mix; she epitomizes the power and expression in the lyrics about death as a woman

Lady in Gold is the second studio album by Swedish rock band Blues Pills. It was released on August 5, 2016 by Nuclear Blast Records. Lady in Gold consists of ten tracks including a cover of Tony Joe White's "Elements and Things" from the 1969 album. In late 2015, the band started writing and preparing for their second album-their first with new drummer André Kvarnström.

Blues Pills is the debut studio album by Swedish rock band Blues Pills, released on July 25, 2014 by Nuclear Blast Records. The album consists of ten tracks including some re-recorded releases from previous EPs and a cover of the Chubby Checker song Gypsy. Two singles were released, High Class Woman and No Hope Left For Me, and both songs had music videos by Nuclear Blast.
