Johann Sebastian Bach. Johann Sebastian Bach. 1 in C major, BWV 1066.

Album · 2010 · 32 Songs. By Johann Sebastian Bach - Klaus Pohlers, Mainz Chamber Orchestra & Gunter Kehr. 9. Suite No. 2 In B Minor for Orchestra, BWV 1067: II. Rondeau.

Bach wrote out the music himself for presentation to the Margrave rather than leaving it to a copyist. While he took the opportunity to revise the music, most likely, it was not freshly composed. Every one of the six concertos set a precedent in scoring, and every one was to remain without parallel  . Performed by the Advent Chamber Orchestra with Roxana Pavel Goldstein (violin), Constance Schoepflin (flute), and Matthew Ganong (harpsichord). Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 – 3. Allegro.

The four orchestral suites (called ouvertures by their author), BWV 1066–1069 are four suites by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Trevor Pinnock and The English Concert, a period-instrument orchestra that Pinnock helped found in the mid-1970s, exhibit a joyful enthusiasm and an obvious love of the music they are playing. This is readily evident in every note they play. Tempi are quick but not too hurried in the Allegro and Presto movements of both the Brandenburg Concertos and the Orchestral Suites, and the Adagio and Andante movements are always properly deliberate and measured without ever becoming lethargic.
