Together with violinist Emmy Verhey, he recorded Great Americans; on Classical Tour with the Baritone Sax he joins pianist Gian Maria Bonino to play works by Schumann and Debussy. Henk van Twillert’s unparalleled virtuosity is not only a joy to the ear, it has inspired other musicians to compose. Several leading composers, including Chiel Meijering, Anke Brouwer, Rob Hauser, Gijs van Dijk, Carlos Marques, Carlos Azevedo and Virgilio Melo have, for example, written works specifically for the baritone sax.

Dutch saxophonist Henk van Twillert (1959) studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam with Ed Bogaard where he completed his studies for the Superior Soloist diploma, passed with distinctions. In 1979 he was founder of the renowned Amsterdam Saxophone Quartet. The quartet played successful tours with numerous renowned musicians, including Jaap van Zweden, Daniël Wayenberg and Han Bennink.

Hendrik "Henk" Jacob van der Wal (20 August 1886 in Rotterdam – 4 August 1982 in Rotterdam) was a Dutch athlete. He competed at the 1908 Summer Olympics in London. Van der Wal lost in the preliminary heats of the 200 metres, placing third to Harold Huff and Edward Duffy. In the 400 metres, van der Wal again was eliminated in the preliminary heats following his fourth-place finish in the four-man heat. He did not finish his semifinal heat of the 800 metres.
