It’s been a good year for Future Islands, thanks to the success of their great new album Singles. But it’s also been a pretty strong year for Canadian experimental jazz group BadBadNotGood, who released III earlier this year. And today, BBNG have offered up their own unique remix of Future Islands’ breakout track Seasons (Waiting on You). BadBadNotGood (stylized as BADBADNOTGOOD) is an instrumental music group from Toronto, Ontario. The group includes keyboardist Matthew Tavares, bassist Chester Hansen, saxophonist Leland Whitty, and drummer Alexander Sowinski. They are known for their interpretations of hip hop tracks and their collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, Denzel Curry, Danny Brown, Mick Jenkins, and Ghostface Killah.

The Toronto trio BADBADNOTGOOD, who have an album with Ghostface Killah coming out early next year, have now recorded their own reworking of it. Their version leaves Samuel T. Herring’s vocal completely intact but underpins it with a sort of cinematic jazz, to the extent that it could almost pass for an old James Bond theme.
