Nils Lofgren Live – An Authorized Bootleg

Back It Up!! is a promotional "live" album from Nils Lofgren initially released 1975. Although the recording was officially released by A&M Records, the artwork was designed to give the appearance of a live bootleg recording, similar to Decca Records' original vinyl release of the Who's Live at Leeds in 1970, which was a legitimate live album designed to look like a bootleg

The original promo has the front cover as a normal sleeve whereas the 1st best copy which was from Germany, not US, had the front sleeve as a 25x 25cm.slick/sticker(Fasprint backing which peels off)which when stuck onto the plain white sleeve looks very similar to the original as do the perfect labels. Some of the last copies used a black sleeve for the slick/sticker.It was copied later in USA ,but not quite as good as the 1st German one.And it was also done with an insert cover as 'Live'on Flat 8239 from the west coast USA.All these releases were in the mid to late 1970s.

I received this from directly from A&M in the US in the mid seventies. The original cover is plain white with a 25x25 cm sticker on it.

Hi, you mean that the original promo pressing is a real printed cover and not an insert like I've always seen until now?

My version differs in not having the A&M Records logo on the cover on the record label. Neither is the catalogue number on the cover. It does, however, have the catalogue number on the label. Is this a different version or just a variation based on the complicated pressing history of this release?
