One could argue that live albums from electronic groups are pointless and most of the time, that is correct. And then there's Wolfsheim who don't even move on stage let alone say anything to the audience between songs except the song titles. However, with Hamburg Rom Wolfsheim you can feel the atmosphere they manage to create with their music alone and it feels, tastes and smells live. Lots of tracks are rearranged and sound different from the studio versions, although production usually is on par with the originals, as well as Heppner's voice who proves that he can actually sing. The track selection is excellent, early Wolfsheim (what to a lot of people was their best period) with all the classic songs and hits. The crowd is also very present but never annoying or over the top (thinking Depeche Mode - 101 here where there is actually too much singing of the crowd, at least for my taste). It's also a good introduction to the band itself, I'd prefer this live album over a best of compilation anytime. Probably the Wolfsheim album I've returned to the most.
