The Wooten Choral Ensemble, founded by the late Robert Wooten S. is the "gold standard" of communi. ty choral choirs, specializing in a range of musical genres which span the multiple worship cultures of the Black Church. They bear the standard of longterm faithfulness as well as of musical excellence. Standard hymns, arranged by Dr. Wooten and sung by TWCE, like "Beams of Heaven," which I heard as a teenager growing up in Chicago, continue to stir me to love God with my heart, mind, soul, and strength.

God planted within Dr. Wooten’s heart the notion of a church choir that would sing Gospel Music (with four part harmony), Spirituals, Anthems, Hymns, Common Meter Dr. Watts songs and Praise songs; and with that vision the Wooten Choral Ensemble was born.
