Zombie Birdhouse is the sixth solo studio album by American rock singer Iggy Pop. It was released in September 1982 by record label Animal. Zombie Birdhouse was recorded on 16-track in June 1982 at Blank Tape Studios in New York City. Chris Stein of Blondie produced the album. The album was released in September 1982 on vinyl and compact disc by Stein's record label Animal Records.

In 1982, after Iggy's contract with Arista lapsed, he was offered the opportunity to work with Blondie mastermind Chris Stein, who not only produced Zombie Birdhouse, but originally released the album on his own short-lived Animal Records imprint, and Iggy seemed to approach the album as his opportunity to let loose with every musical and lyrical impulse that wouldn't have.

LP (12" album, 33 rpm). Iggy Pop Format: Vinyl. The bonus disc is a warts-and-all live recording of a Toronto show from the tour of this album. Virtually the entire "Zombie Birdhouse" track list is represented, along with a handful of older solo/Stooges tunes. Sound quality is so-so at best. It sounds like a sound-board recording. But it's still a neat audio snapshot from this period of his career. I just wish we could get a live disc of the "Soldier" tour. Not the best Iggy solo album - That would be either "Soldier" or "The Idiot" in my opinion - but one of his better efforts.
