Illuminate is the second studio album by Lydia. It was released on March 18, 2008, and reissued by October 21, 2008 on Low Altitude Records. The album was streamed entirely on AbsolutePunk. net on March 17, 2008. The artwork for the album was designed by and drawn by artist Becky Filip. There were only 5,000 copies printed on Linc Star Records.

Lydia Taylor is a former Canadian rock singer, most noted for winning the Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist at the Juno Awards of 1983. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Taylor moved to Toronto after high school to become a singer. Initially performing with an all-girl pop group called The Starlettes, after a few years she left to join the rock band Trixter. She released her first single, "Love a Little Harder", in 1976.
They released their second album, Illuminate on March 18, 2008. They went on a late summer tour with The Dear Hunter, Eye Alaska and You, Me, and Everyone We Know. It was announced on August 25, 2008 that the band had signed to Low Altitude Records and re-released Illuminate on October 21, 2008. They went on tour with Copeland

She followed up with Lydia Taylor Band in 1981, breaking through to wider radio airplay and sales. The album produced a single, "Some Guys", which charted on radio stations across Canada. With this second album, her management team at Falcon Records also secured distribution in the USA on Passport Records. Around the same time as her Juno Award win she released her third and final recording, the five-song EP Bitch. The album was an especially strong seller in Western Canada.
