Re-released on January 21, 2014 by Prosthetic Records. 컬을 배제한채 끝없이 추락하는 느낌을 주는 훌륭한 디프레시브 메탈이다. 스트록적인 파워도 충분히 주고 있으며, 짙게 깔리는 퍼즈 톤의 베이스가 저음부를 탄탄하게 받쳐주고 있다. 전체적으로 Cult of Luna에 비견될 만큼 처절한 분위기가 지속되며, Final Years의 마지막 부분에서는 스크리밍 보컬이 없는 것이 아쉬울 만큼 서정적인 리프가 터져나온다.

The album ends with On The Steps Of The Temple, which also doubles as its longest effort. After a momentary waiting period, the band begins to kick it into high gear, displaying all of their trademark groove/sludge samplings. The song takes many turns in melody, and just as many turns in melody as it takes in drumming, showing the full output of the band. Things even begin to blast after a while, showing that these guys still have their best to uncover. While not completely perfect, Tempel show that they’ve got plenty of vigor and muscle with this album. I just wish the material was more like Mountain, Avaritia and On The Steps Of The Temple and less like, wel. verything else. I understand that sometimes you have to have some slower tracks on your disc for the mood, but that’s also when I wind up pressing skip.

Temple is a two-man effort from Phoenix, Arizona. Self-described as death/doom with a hint of black, this band supplies its listeners with instrumental-only tracks of refined and well-paced metal, without leaving our ears feeling empty with the absence of vocals. Their debut full-length, On the Steps of the Temple, is roughly fifty-three minutes of musical excellence, complete with varied solos, powerful riffs, and well-paced drumming. The mixing of the album, while nothing spectacular, is paramount in adding to the mysterious mood.
