Festival is an album by American jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour that was released in 1988 by GRP Records. The album is a collaboration between musicians from New York City, Los Angeles, and Brazil. Festival reached No. 3 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. Night Rhythms (Ritenour) – 4:32. Latin Lovers (Aldir Blanc/Joao Bosco) – 6:17. Humana (Ivan Lins/Vítor Martins) – 4:39. Rio Soul (Tim Landers) – 5:24. Waiting for You (Ritenour) – 2:23. Odile, Odila (Joao Bosco/Martinho da Vila) – 4:58.

Ritenour's second acoustic album, like his first, has an overall Brazilian theme but this time, he recorded his ensemble of New York, . and Brazilian musicians in one locale, New York City. This is a superior record to Rio, though, because there is a deeper Brazilian feeling to the arrangements, and Lee's own playing is even more refined and meaningful.

Audio CD, November 6, 2015. I've always felt that this was Lee's finest album. I finally purchased it. The memories it brings back of living in Southeast Florida are warm and welcome. Try listening to it while you're lying on the beach somewhere or pretending you are. Fantastic. 3 people found this helpful.

One of his most notable influences is the pioneering jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery. In 1976, he released his first solo album, First Course. This was followed up by his fusion work Captain Fingers in 1976. Ritenour was born January 11, 1952 in Los Angeles, California. He played his first session when he was 16 with the Mamas and the Papas. Nicknamed "Captain Fingers", he (along with Larry Carlton) was a sought-after session guitarist by the mid-1970s.
